About this app
The Thur-Eng.Works App is a so-called Progressive Web App (PWA). Basically, it’s a downloadable website that – once you install it – looks and feels pretty much like an app from an app store.
You can easily install this SUAS Incoming App on the home screen of your Android or Apple smartphone, or even to your Windows or MacOS desktop computer.
After installation, you can launch the web app from your home screen, with its own icon like other installed apps. It is a safe install, because, in fact, no actual application gets installed on your machine. It is simply a specialized window of your browser, a kind of shortcut.
Installing the app on Android
Chrome (preferred)
Open thur-eng.works in the Chrome browser and log into your account. Once there, tap the three-dot overflow menu in the top-right corner and then select ‘Add to home screen.’ In some Chrome versions, this option is simply called ‘Install App’.
Confirm the installation in the following prompt, and you’re done! The SUAS Incoming App will show up on your home screen like a regular app.
Firefox
Open thur-eng.works in the Firefox browser and log into your account. Once there, tap the three-dot overflow menu in the bottom-right corner and then select ‘Add to home screen.’ In some Android versions, this option is also just called ‘Install’.
Confirm the installation in the following prompt, and you’re done! The SUAS Incoming App will show up on your home screen like a regular app.
Installing the app on iOS
Safari
Progressive Web Apps can only be installed on iOS using the Safari browser at the moment, unfortunately.
Open thur-eng.works in Safari and log into your account. Then tap the ‘Share’ button, scroll down and tap ‘Add to Home Screen’. If asked, enter a name for the app, and then tap ‘Add’. The SUAS Incoming App will show up on your home screen like a regular iOS app.
Installing the app on a desktop computer
On desktop computers and laptops, you can install the app on Windows, Mac, and Linux systems. You will need the Chrome browser or Chromium – or the Edge browser on Windows.
Open thur-eng.works in the Chrome or Edge browser and log into your account. The browser will display a ‘+’ symbol or a download icon on the right side of the address bar next to the bookmark button.
As an alternative, if you do not see the icon in the address bar, click on the 3 vertical dots on the very right. This pops up a menu, look for ‘Install App’. In the Edge browser, you’ll need to look for ‘Apps’ first.
Once you got here, all you need is to confirm the installation, and you’re done! You will find an app icon on your home screen, and you can even pin the app on your taskbar.
